About this style
Gorilla Trekking with Lomo
Come face to face with one of our closest relatives on a gorilla trekking expedition in the misty forests of Uganda and Rwanda. With only around 1,000 mountain gorillas left in the wild, this is one of the most moving wildlife experiences on Earth — and permit fees help fund their protection.
In Uganda, treks start in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with many habituated gorilla families. In Rwanda, Volcanoes National Park — made famous by Dian Fossey — offers easier access from Kigali. After a trek through the forest, which can take from one to several hours, you spend one unforgettable hour quietly watching a gorilla family feed, play and rest.
We take care of everything, from securing limited gorilla permits, which should be booked well in advance, to lodges on the forest edge, regional flights and optional chimpanzee tracking. Gorilla trekking combines perfectly with a Tanzania safari for the ultimate East African journey.
