About this style

Mountain Trekking with Lomo

Our Kilimanjaro climbs take you to Uhuru Peak, at 5,895 metres the highest point in Africa, with our own mountain crews: KINAPA-licensed guides, a cook and porters who carry the camp. No ropes or climbing experience are needed. What matters is steady fitness and giving your body enough days to adjust to the altitude.

We climb six routes. The Marangu route has mountain huts and takes five days. The Machame and Rongai routes take seven days, the Lemosho route eight and the Northern Circuit nine, the longest and quietest way round the mountain. The steep Umbwe route takes six days and suits experienced hikers. For a first taste of the mountain, our day hike crosses the Shira Plateau.

Every climb is private and follows a gradual "walk high, sleep low" plan. Our guides check your health twice a day, and the best months are January to early March and June to October. Each route has its own guide with a map and altitude profile on our Kilimanjaro pages.
