About Tloma Lodge
Tloma Lodge sits at the top of a valley in the foothills of the Ngorongoro Highlands near Karatu, looking over a coffee plantation to the forested walls of the Ngorongoro Crater. The lodge is built in the style of the old colonial farmhouses of the area, and its gardens are full of flowers and birds.
There are 36 rooms: 24 cottages in colonial style, each with a private terrace or balcony over the gardens or the coffee, and 12 garden-view rooms in the main building. Rooms have a double bed or two singles and a bathroom with shower, and family rooms are two connecting rooms. The main building holds the restaurant, a lounge and a large terrace with views of the extinct Oldeani volcano, and there is an outdoor pool.
The restaurant serves market-style dishes made with produce grown on the farm. In the afternoon, guests can walk around the organic farm and coffee plantation with a guide, book a massage or end the day with a sundowner. The Lolduare gate of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is 18 km away, and Manyara airstrip 24 km.
