Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

Inside Lake Manyara National Park

About Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

&Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is set in the upper branches of an old mahogany grove inside Lake Manyara National Park, with the Rift Valley escarpment rising behind. It is the only permanent lodge within the park, which gives guests rare access to its varied habitats, from the soda lake to the groundwater forest.

Ten treehouse suites stand on stilts, built from natural materials, and look out over glades where elephants sometimes wander below. A family treehouse suite sleeps up to four. The lodge has a swimming pool among the trees, offers massages and healing therapies, and serves fresh seasonal menus.

The park is known for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds and more than 400 bird species. Alongside day and night game drives, the lodge arranges sleep-outs under the stars, bicycle rides through Mayoka village and cultural visits to Mto wa Mbu. Seven in ten members of the team come from the area.
