O'LDOINYO LENGAI TREKKING

TOUR OVERVIEW

Ol Doinyo Lengai, meaning “Mountain of God” in Maasai, is an active volcano in northern Tanzania, standing at 2,962m (9,718 ft). The trek is known for its steep and demanding ascent, often starting around midnight to reach the summit by sunrise. The terrain consists of loose volcanic ash and hardened lava, making the climb challenging but rewarding. At the top, trekkers witness unique natrocarbonatite lava flows and stunning views of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Natron. The descent can be tough due to steep, slippery slopes. This trek is ideal for adventurous hikers seeking a physically intense but breathtaking experience.
