Mount Meru, towering at 4,566 meters (14,980 feet), is the second-highest peak in Tanzania, nestled in the stunning Arusha National Park. Your adventure kicks off the moment your driver guide picks you up from Kilimanjaro International Airport, offering you a warm welcome with your choice of coffee, hot chocolate, or tea, accompanied by delicious snacks. As you relax and take in the surroundings, feel free to ask any questions about your adventure. Your guide will happily answer and provide an exciting briefing, giving you a glimpse of the incredible journey ahead. Get ready for a truly unforgettable experience ahead!

The journey from Arusha to Momella Gate takes about 1.5-2 hours, followed by a 4-6 hour trek to Miriakamba Huts at 2,500 meters. The route passes through lush montane forest, offering the chance to spot wildlife like colobus monkeys. Miriakamba Huts provide a comfortable resting spot with stunning views of Mount Meru before continuing the climb to Saddle Hut for the summit attempt.
The trek from Miriakamba Huts to Saddle Hut takes 3-4 hours, covering 4–5 km with an elevation gain of 1,000 meters. The trail passes through moorland and alpine desert zones, offering stunning views of Mount Meru. At 3,570 meters, Saddle Hut provides basic accommodations, serving as a resting spot before the final summit push.
Summit Day starts with an early climb from Saddle Hut to the summit of Mount Meru at 4,566 meters, taking 4-6 hours. After enjoying stunning views, the descent to Saddle Hut takes about 3 hours, followed by another 3-4 hour descent back to Miriakamba Huts, completing a 10-12 hour trek.
5 Days Mount Meru Trekking
On the 5-day Meru Trek, the Summit Day is the final day, where you'll descend directly from the summit to Momella Gate, skipping Miriakamba Huts. After signing out at the gate, you'll be driven back to Arusha Town.
