Safari activities

This journey is a mix of game drives and exciting activities. Here are some examples of activities.

Walking:
Explore the untouched wilderness in Selous Game Reserve on foot. It awakens your senses, as the wilderness becomes more real. Learn about tracks, birds, insects, plants and also the bigger wildlife. For sure this is a thrilling safari experience.

Boat trip:
Enjoy a boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River in the afternoon. You discover the different channels and lakes of the Rufiji River System, surrounded by crocodiles and hippos. Watch  giraffes, elephants and lots of water birds along the way.

Accommodation

The accommodation we selected are in the most stunning locations, giving you the chance to enjoy beautiful scenery and incredible sights. They are set in rich wildlife areas or in a picturesque location with views over the Rufiji River or the Indian Ocean. One of the main criteria that we use when choosing accommodation is comfort. After a day of adventure, it’s so nice to come back to an amazing place to relax, enjoy a delicious meal and be able to take a dip in the pool. The accommodation during your safari is a mix of stylish luxury lodges, tented camps and hotels. The tented camps allow you to get closer to nature without sacrificing luxury or comfort, like private bathrooms, comfortable beds and spacious decks. It’s a modern take on a classic safari experience.

Fly or drive by car

The drive to Ruaha from Dar es Salaam is a long stretch and takes about 9 hours. You can also choose to get to Ruaha by chartered or scheduled flight to the park’s airstrip. The drive back from Selous to Dar es Salaam also takes about a full day, but here you also have the option to fly back from the airstrip in Selous.
