Safari and Beach Zanzibar

This Safari & Beach itinerary takes you from superb wildlife areas to white sandy beaches. Explore the world’s greatest game parks, like the Serengeti, home to the most spectacular annual wildlife migration, or the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder with unsurpassed wildlife. From here, travel to the tropical island of Zanzibar, where you discover the fascinating cultural history of Stone Town, and relax on the white sandy beaches, surrounded by the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Northern Tanzania

During this safari you visit the most famous parks in the northern part of Tanzania, full of amazing nature and wildlife. This includes the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater which shelters close to 25.000 animals including the Big Five and rare black rhino, and the Serengeti, home to the Great Wildebeest Migration and an abundance of wildlife unmatched anywhere else in Africa. Moreover there are also a lot of smaller charming parks like Lake Manyara and Tarangire, which hosts one of the world’s largest elephant population.

Zanzibar

Endless white powdery beaches with coconut palms, shallow turquoise waters, beautiful coral reefs and blood orange sunsets. Some of Zanzibar’s beaches are so peaceful and remote that the lapping of the Indian ocean is the only sound you can hear. A perfect place to wash off the safari dust. This tropical beach destination offers outstanding beaches combined with a colourful history and a wide variety of activities.

Activities

This journey is a mix of game drives, beach life and exciting activities. Here are some examples of activities:

Canoeing:
If you wish to get out of the safari vehicle for a few hours, a canoe safari offers you an unique perspective on the landscapes and wildlife. Get close to giraffes, elephants, buffalos and other animals grazing on the shoreline of Lake Manyara.

Walking:
One of the best places to do a walking safari is the Serengeti. Feel the excitement and thrill of exploring the Serengeti on foot. In contrast to game drive, in a safari vehicle you use all your senses to take in the impressions. Learn how to observe wind direction, animal behaviour and to read tracks. Feel connected with nature and savour the exhilaration of encounters with wildlife first hand.

Snorkelling or diving:
The crystal clear tropical waters surrounding the island of Zanzibar are home to beautiful sea life and colourful reefs. Enjoy this marine paradise on a snorkelling or diving tour. Spot Moorish Idols, Trevally, Blue tang, Barracuda and Clownfish and many more. There is a big chance to see dolphins, turtles or even whales on your way to the snorkelling/diving spot.

Cultural tour:
Stone Town is the cultural and historical heart of Zanzibar. Walk through the small streets of this lively town and discover its beauty. Interesting places you visit on this cultural tour are the slave market, the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, the Anglican Cathedral, Forodhani Gardens and Darajani market place.
