Family Tanzania Adventure

Tanzania is known as one of Africa’s safest and friendliest countries, mainly due to its warm hearted and generous people. It is one of the few countries in Africa that can easily combine a safari with a beach holiday. There is a very large range of family friendly accommodation and safari activities for all ages. Not to mention the incredible wildlife and fascinating cultures. This family safari is an ideal blend of activities, culture and wildlife.

Northern Tanzania

During this safari you visit the most famous parks in the northern part of Tanzania, full of amazing nature and wildlife. This includes the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater which shelters close to 25.000 animals including the Big Five and rare black rhino, and the Serengeti, home to the Great Wildebeest Migration and an abundance of wildlife unmatched anywhere else in Africa. Moreover there are also a lot of smaller charming parks like Arusha National Park and Tarangire, which hosts one of the world’s largest elephant population. Expect to be impressed by the natural beauty of the Tanzanian wilderness.

Safari and cultural activities

This journey is a mix of game drives and exciting activities, out of the car. Here are some examples of activities:

Walking:
Explore nature on foot during a short walk to the waterfalls in Arusha National Park. This smaller park offers views of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, several massive craters and a diversity of wildlife like the rare black-and-white colobus monkey. You can also go for an exciting bush walk in Tarangire. During your walk you will see and learn about birds, insects, plants and tracks, but there is also a chance to encounter larger mammals like giraffe, dik dik, and impala. Note that night game drives and walking safari are not suitable for kids under 12 years old.

Canoeing:
If you wish to get out of the safari vehicle for a few hours, a canoe safari absolutely offers you an unique perspective on the landscapes and wildlife. Get close to waterbucks and buffaloes grazing on the shoreline of Lake Momella (Arusha National Park) and if you are lucky you can see Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru in full glory.

Visit a Maasai village:
A visit to a local Maasai village and school will enrich your knowledge about their culture and customs. During your time in the village, activities may include Maasai dancing, watching warriors demonstrate how to make fire, witnessing women craft beaded jewellery and accessories, learning about medicinal plants and possibly a chance to herd cattle if time permits.

Accommodation

The accommodation we selected are in the most stunning locations, giving you the chance to enjoy beautiful scenery and incredible sights. They are set in rich wildlife areas or in a picturesque location, with the most beautiful panoramic views over the savannah. One of the main criteria that we use when choosing accommodation is comfort. After a day of adventure, it’s so nice to come back to an amazing place to relax, enjoy a delicious meal and be able to take a dip in the swimming pool. The accommodation during your safari is child-friendly and a mix of stylish luxury lodges and – tented camps.
