This journey is a mix of game drives and exciting activities, out of the car. Here are some examples of activities:
Walking:
Explore nature on foot during a short walk to the waterfalls in Arusha National Park. This smaller park offers views of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, several massive craters and a diversity of wildlife like the rare black-and-white colobus monkey. You can also go for an exciting bush walk in Tarangire. During your walk you will see and learn about birds, insects, plants and tracks, but there is also a chance to encounter larger mammals like giraffe, dik dik, and impala. Note that night game drives and walking safari are not suitable for kids under 12 years old.
Canoeing:
If you wish to get out of the safari vehicle for a few hours, a canoe safari absolutely offers you an unique perspective on the landscapes and wildlife. Get close to waterbucks and buffaloes grazing on the shoreline of Lake Momella (Arusha National Park) and if you are lucky you can see Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru in full glory.
Visit a Maasai village:
A visit to a local Maasai village and school will enrich your knowledge about their culture and customs. During your time in the village, activities may include Maasai dancing, watching warriors demonstrate how to make fire, witnessing women craft beaded jewellery and accessories, learning about medicinal plants and possibly a chance to herd cattle if time permits.
