Explore the lifestyle of the graceful Maasai Warriors during a visit to their village. The Maasai are famous for their lively cultural dance, colourful clothing and beadwork. Known primarily as warriors and shepherds, cattle is essential to the Maasai’s way of life since a man’s success is measured by the number of cattle and it’s the most important part of their diet. During your time in the village, activities may include Maasai dancing, watching warriors demonstrate how to make fire and witnessing women craft beaded jewellery and accessories.
Lake Eyasi is a wild and scenically stunning area where you can get a real insight into the way of life of some of Tanzania’s fascinating rural tribes, the Datoga. They are skilled farmers and silversmith’s who live close to the Hazabe and supply them with iron knives and spears in exchange for honey and fruits. The Datoga women love to decorate their faces with scarification and wear brown dresses from goat skin. You will visit their habitat and experience their culture first hand.
Learn more about the ancient ways of the Hadzabe Bushmen. The Hadza still live like their ancestors during the Stone Age period; hunting wild animals with bow and arrows and eating roots, honey and wild fruits. They live solely of the land and own no cattle or do any agriculture. You can participate in their real life activities such as hunting and fire making.
